Dimensions
The layers in the damascus steel bars is of course thinner in a small bar than in a large bar. (If both bars have the same amount of layers.) If a tight pattern is wanted, then always use a bar dimension as close as possible to the product that is made from the bar.

Many different dimensions are avalible, both flats and rounds.
As examples are below the standard sizes for the hardenable martensitic damascus steel for edge tools.
