The illustrations below are simply bars from the DAMASTEEL stock put directly on the scanner. There is a natural variation of the pattern appearance. Two bars of the same pattern never looks exactly alike.

The roundbars comes with different types of patterns in the cross section. The Paralell and Bluetounge roundbars can also be twisted.

Vinland 935,6

 

 

Vinland is random structure, forged from bars of the concentric
lamination type. Ground and black bars in stock.

Twist 936,2

 

 

The laminated billet is rolled to a round dimension. In a special
operation the bar is twisted and then forged to flat dimensions.
Stocked in black or ground surface standard.

Hakkapella 935,7

 

 

The pattern is developed during the hot working to a flat dimension. Pattern coining of a zig-zag shaped structure is performed as a last operation. Only ground surfaces in stock.

Rose 935,4

 

Rose is pattern coined to a knotty surface. After grinding, concentric rings are seen in the middle part. Towards the border the pattern is more Random-like. Ground bars in stock.

Pattern coining on billets with concentric damascene layers gives
eyes in the center and wavy structure towards the borders. Ground bars in stock.

Twisted Bluetounge roundbar, forged to flat dimensions.

A wavy structure is coined on Bluetounge material. Then ground flat. Ground bars in stock.
